Compact elevator
The compact elevator: the solution when space is limited
Many renovation or accessibility upgrade projects involve severe space constraints for elevator installation—such as narrow stairwells, load-bearing walls that must remain intact, limited headroom, or shallow pits. Standard solutions simply do not fit.
OCTÉ Lift has developed compact elevators that allow for the installation of units compliant with EN 81-20 and EN 81-21 standards in configurations where other manufacturers would be unable to operate.
Parameters of the confined space
Minimal shaft footprint
OCTÉ Lift elevators designed for compact spaces can be installed in shafts with internal dimensions as small as 1,000 x 900 mm (for an 800 x 600 mm cabin). Custom configurations allow for an even smaller footprint.
Minimum pit depth
The minimum pit depth for a standard elevator is 1,000 to 1,200 mm. OCTÉ Lift offers solutions with a reduced pit depth of 350 mm, utilizing alternative safety systems approved under the EN 81-21 standard (elevators for existing buildings).
Top-floor headroom
The headroom (space above the car at the top floor) can be reduced to 2,400 mm using car retention systems compliant with EN 81-21.
OCTÉ Lift benefits for confined spaces
- Custom design tailored to each layout
- Compliance with EN 81-20 and EN 81-21 standards for existing buildings
- Minimal pit depth as low as 350 mm
- Reduced headroom as low as 2,400 mm
- Installation without major structural work
Applications
This range is particularly well-suited for renovation projects in Haussmann-style or older buildings, private homes, public-access buildings (ERP) requiring accessibility upgrades, and industrial buildings with height constraints.
