VERSO Elevator Controller: The New Generation Compliant with EN 81-20
Choosing an elevator control cabinet determines the long-term reliability, safety, and ease of maintenance of the installation. VERSO integrates frequency variation directly into the cabinet, a touchscreen control panel, and compliance with EN 81-20, EN 81-21, and SIL 3 safety levels. Designed and manufactured in France by a certified engineering firm, it is intended for elevator companies installing new elevators as well as those undertaking modernization projects.
An elevator control panel designed for performance and safety
Integrated frequency control and low power consumption
A high-performance toroidal transformer and a switching power supply for the electro-cam, brake, and limiter remote control reduce the power consumption of the control panel and its peripheral components by half. Each component has individual voltage adjustment, and a single, centralized 12V backup power supply covers all safety requirements.
Enhanced safety: EN 81-20, EN 81-21, and SIL 3
The electronic management of the safety chain is classified SIL 3 (IEC 61508), with monitoring of uncontrolled car movements (UCM) and toe guard control. A dedicated connector allows the locking contacts of the landing or car doors to be bypassed during installation or maintenance operations.
An intuitive touchscreen for simplified maintenance
The 3.5-inch touchscreen serves as the single programming interface, with shortcuts to fault menus, counters, and displays. It continuously displays the status of the safety chain, speed, level, cab altitude, and stopping accuracy. More than 200 local and remote inputs/outputs can be viewed, with integrated keypad and technician code functions.
Electronic Architecture Designed for Reliability
- Multifunction board: leveling, early opening of landing doors, UCM, foot guards, programmable priority calls, output voltages adjustable to the volt
- SD card: centralized program management, easy updates, customizable voice announcements
- Integrated 12V 7Ah battery: emergency alarm, emergency cab lighting, speed limiter monitoring, cab position memory for 2 hours
- Simplified wiring: one pendant, landing bus and cab bus, integrated cable guide
A range adapted to every configuration
With machine room (700 x 370 x 340 mm or 760 x 610 x 380 mm) or without machine room (1980 x 370 x 250 mm or 2000 x (130 x 140 mm), VERSO covers blocking, collective lowering, and full collective lowering, up to 30 levels, 2 service faces, and from simplex to quadruplex. It controls asynchronous motors up to 15 kW, synchronous or asynchronous motors up to 39 A, and Oléo hydraulic units from 25 to 150 A, at a maximum speed of 1.6 m/s with a stopping accuracy of 1.2 mm.
Conclusion
With its integrated frequency converter, touchscreen, and compliance with EN 81-20, EN 81-21, and SIL 3, the VERSO elevator control panel provides a complete technical solution for both new installations and modernization projects.
FAQ
What is an elevator control panel?
It’s the electronic control unit that manages calls, speed, the safety chain, and communication with the doors, sensors, and push-button panel.
What does SIL 3 mean?
SIL (Safety Integrity Level), defined by the IEC 61508 standard, measures the reliability of an electronic safety function. Level 3 corresponds to a high degree of reliability.
Is VERSO compatible with elevators without a machine room?
Yes, compact versions are available, with integrated frequency inverters or in-shaft configurations.
Does the control panel allow for remote maintenance?
When used with the VERSO Connect box, it allows remote access to over 200 parameters and the receipt of real-time alerts.
